Ushuaia
Ushuaia (/uːˈswaɪ.ə/ oo-SWY-ə, Spanish: [uˈswaja]) is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province, Argentina. With a population of 82,615 and a location below the 54th parallel south latitude, Ushuaia claims the title of world's southernmost city.
Ushuaia is located in a wide bay on the southern coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. It is bounded on the north by the Martial mountain range and on the south by the Beagle Channel. It is the only municipality in the Department of Ushuaia and has an area of 9,390 km2 (3,625 sq mi). It was founded on 12 October 1884 by Augusto Lasserre and is located on the shores of the Beagle Channel surrounded by the mountain range of the Martial Glacier, in the Bay of Ushuaia. In addition to being an administrative center, it is a light industrial port and tourist destination. Ushuaia is located roughly 1,100 kilometers (680 mi) from the Antarctic Peninsula and is one of five internationally recognized Antarctic gateway cities; it is one of two South American cities with that status along with Chile's Punta Arenas.

Antarctic Peninsula
The Antarctic Peninsula is part of the larger peninsula of West Antarctica, protruding 1,300 km (810 miles) from a line between Cape Adams (Weddell Sea) and a point on the mainland south of the Eklund Islands. Beneath the ice sheet that covers it, the Antarctic Peninsula consists of a string of bedrock islands; these are separated by deep channels whose bottoms lie at depths considerably below current sea level. They are joined by a grounded ice sheet. Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost tip of South America, is about 1,000 km (620 miles) away across the Drake Passage.
The Antarctic Peninsula is 522,000 square kilometers (202,000 sq mi) in area and 80% ice-covered.
The Antarctic Peninsula is currently dotted with numerous research stations, and nations have made multiple claims of sovereignty. The peninsula is part of disputed and overlapping claims by Argentina, Chile, and the United Kingdom. None of these claims have international recognition and, under the Antarctic Treaty System, the respective countries do not attempt to enforce their claims. The British claim, however, is recognized by Australia, France, New Zealand, and Norway. Argentina has the most bases and personnel stationed on the peninsula.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Founded in 1565, the city began as the seat of the Captaincy of Rio de Janeiro, a territory of the Portuguese Empire. By 1763, it had become the capital of the State of Brazil. In 1808, when the Portuguese Royal Court relocated to Brazil, Rio de Janeiro became the court's seat under Queen Maria I of Portugal. Her son, Prince Regent John of Braganza, elevated Brazil to the status of a kingdom within the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and Algarves. Rio remained the capital of this transcontinental monarchy until 1822, when the Brazilian War of Independence began. Notably, this marked one of the rare times in history that a colonizing nation's capital moved to a colony. Later, Rio served as the capital of the Empire of Brazil until 1889 and continued as the capital of republican Brazil until 1960, when Brasília took its place.
Rio de Janeiro boasts the second-largest municipal GDP in Brazil and ranked 30th worldwide in 2008, with an estimated R$343 billion. The city hosts the headquarters of major Brazilian oil, mining, and telecommunications companies, including Petrobras, Vale, and Latin America's largest telemedia conglomerate, Grupo Globo. As home to many universities and research institutes, it is Brazil's second-largest hub for research and development, contributing 17% of the nation's scientific output as of 2005. Despite its reputation, Rio has a lower crime rate than most state capitals in Brazil.

Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer Statue tour

Visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World: the 125-foot Christ the Redeemer Statue, situated on Corcovado Mountain, 2,330 feet above beautiful Rio de Janeiro.
You will be met at the ship pier, and transferred to the Copacabana area to meet for your tour. On Mondays through Saturdays, you will drive by the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas along the way. A lagoon surrounded by parks, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is one of Rio's most scenic and best-known landmarks.
After meeting your guide, you will set off for the Cosme Velho Train cog station at the bottom of Corcovado Mountain. Meaning "hunchback" in Portuguese, the 2,329-foot granite peak is located in the Tijuca Forest, and is known worldwide for the 125-foot statue of Jesus atop its peak, entitled Cristo Redentor or "Christ the Redeemer." From the cog station you will take the ride up to the top, through the dense Tijuca rainforest, to the Christ the Redeemer statue. Designed by local engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and sculpted by French artist Paul Landowski, the statue was completed in 1931. In 2007, it was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. From the top of Corcovado Mountain, you will enjoy spectacular views of Rio and the surrounding countryside.
Please Note: Crowds are to be expected at all sites. Streets are narrow, and traffic can come to a standstill. Time is built into the tour in case of delays. Tour timing is approximate, and crowd and traffic conditions may affect the actual tour duration. Narration is offered in English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, and Russian, and is listened to through individual headphones.
La Palma, Canary Islands
La Palma, known as "La Isla Bonita" (The Beautiful Island), is the most northwesterly island of the Canary Islands, located off the northwest coast of Africa. It is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, including lush forests, steep cliffs, and black sand beaches, making it the greenest island in the archipelago. La Palma offers a rich cultural heritage, numerous hiking trails, and opportunities for adventure and relaxation, attracting visitors with its ecological treasures and exceptional scenery.

Arrecife, Lanzarote
Arrecife is the capital city and a municipality of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It became the island's capital in 1852. The name "Arrecife," which means "reef" in Spanish, comes from the rock reef that lines its local beach. The city also shares its name with the nearby Arrecife Airport. In 2020, the municipality had a population of 64,645 and covered an area of 22.72 square kilometers (8.77 sq mi).
Arrecife lies south of Teguise, east of San Bartolomé, and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast. This port town offers ferry services to other Canary Islands, Europe, and Africa. The LZ1 road links Arrecife to the island's northeast, the LZ2 road connects it to the southwest, and the LZ3 road acts as the city's beltway. The tallest building in Lanzarote, the Arrecife Gran Hotel, stands on the seafront near the harbor.
